I hit kitchen pay dirt this weekend! I have been wanting a mezzaluna forever and Kohl's had that and and a potato ricer from Food Network on for 60% off....plus we had a 30% off coupon!
I made a chickpea, feta and cilantro salad for lunch out of the Tessa Kiros "Falling Cloudberries" cookbook. It took lots of italian parsley and cilantro. It was SO easy to make using the mezzaluna.
The meat grinder (Kitchen aid attachment) wasn't on sale but I needed one. It's hard to find lean meats like ground lamb or ground pork so I'm going to grind my own. We have already used it! I'm making Finnish meatballs for dinner and ground up a pork tenderloin for part of the meat along with some lean ground beef.
That's a great bit of shopping MIka. Is the KA mincer attachment good? I have a KA and it is something I have been thinking of buying, but in Australia all this stuff is very expensive plus I can nearly get any mince I want or ask the butcher to do it for me. I have a couple of really good family run butcher shops in my area, which makes purchasing exactly the meat I want quite easy.
